I’ve moved

A can of worms

Finally taken the plunge-I’ve ordered a wormery! I’ve wanted one for ages and after a natter with a friend this afternoon I decided to go for it-my parents will of course think I’m mad.

We’re trying to go green as much as practically and financially possible- we need another 2 water butts and a compost bin yet. for some reason DH wouldn’t empty out mine and bring it when we moved house!

I decided to take the day off today-so got more of the jungle hacked back- the hedge was 7ft deep in places then had a coffee with a friend and then made a few cards-all in all a nice relaxing day

This si for the Daring Cardmakers mid week challenge-it had to be stripey and dotty.

Then I made a couple for the Caardvarks challenge-which had to use fibre

For a change I have no cards I need to make so it was nice just to make a few for “in case” the need arises. Its either that or more Christmas cards and I really don’t feel right making them in August-even if it does feel like November outside today

A bit of this and that

I’ve just loaded some photos from the camera, a right mixed bag!

First we have my new pet- Freddie the frog-he hopped across in front of me this morning in the garden. We used to live at the back of town-up near the fields. But its weird, we are down much nearer the centre of town, yet becuase we have lots of trees here and no cats we get lots and lots of birds-and for some reason frogs and toads!

Then I had a picture of me and DH from the HMSA black tie ball at the weekend

Finally a card!! Mel challenged me to make a card using a stamp-not much of a challenge you’d think except I have hundreds and never use them except for the challenges on Carolyns forum-or the occasional sentiment on a card. So I went wild and crazy and used a swirl-oh and the obligatory sentiment stamp! They are stamped on acetate with Stazon, my first attempt-hence you can see the reflection of my hands on the card.

Thats all folks! Hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend

Back to work

I’m back to work this week after the spider incident so less time for cardmaking, but I’ve got a couple left to show you from last week. This os for challenge 7-touchy feely on Just Bex forum. The hearts are fake suede fabric

This card I sweated blood and tears over-never again!! But I’m happy with how it finally turned out.

My Mrsite website is still driving me mad-alot of the adoption cards I make can either be in different colours, or personalised. I have boxes set up where you can type in what you want on the card. The flippin things stopped working about 3 months ago now and they still can’t seem to fix it! It drives me (and my customers) mad. I know I have 2 card orders today, but I can;t work on them till the customers reply to my emails asking them what details the need-very frustrating!

two more challenges done!

Another 2 cards for the challenges on Bex’s forum

It seems I’m off work again tomorrow. I got bitten on sunday by a bug or spider and it seems I now have 2 infections in my foot-so feet up for a couple of days. I’m hoping to get a few more challenges covered, and a few more cards off my to-do list!

It also means the man can now come tomorrow to try to put us a Sky dish up- 2 sky engineers have tried and failed so far so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Had a productive evening so far-2 cards for my brother in-laws birthday, both fit challenges on Bex’s forum!

The first is for the Way to go challenge-its the Nurrinberg race track course

justin-1.jpg

This is for the Sugar and Spice challenge- I got the Jolee’s stickers free with some bits from the USA

I have a feeling I may have to take the day off work tomorrow-so I may get some more challenges done ;-)

I got bitten on my foot by a spider on Sunday-its swelling more by the day and getting very painful to drive-I’m on

anti-histimines and putting antiseptic cream on it-any more ideas?

More challenges

I’m not good at little girls cards-boys no problem, I love those, but girls cards seem so limited, pink, glittery and flowery seems about it, so making cards for my niece is always challenging.

Mel set me a challenge to make something with ribbon that wasn’t a card-so I made a bracelet for Charlie. I mounted it on her birthday card, so I’m hoping it still counts!

file0190.jpg

I’ve also made two very girly cards requested by my sister for twins who love to shop. Not my usual style, but I’m quite pleased with them-the first is Di Hickmans challenge this week.

I’m back

Bet you never even noticed I’d been gone!

The move finally went ahead on the 6th July, and we’ve been without internet access ever since-its been awful.

It finally came back online tonight, so I thought I’d start with a challenge-this one is from Bex’s forum, a template from Sue

 charlie-blog.jpg

I’ve not made many cards whilst I’ve been away, but I have been challenging myself a little to use all those dies I bought and then forgot about-I’ll post some pictures later.

We’ve been busy unpacking boxes and getting the house straight up till now-and the next project is the garden-if I remember I’ll take before shots tomorrow-but don’t expect the after versions until next year-its going to be a long project!

We’ve had alot of busy weekends lately so no real time to get started, last weekend was my friend Adele’s wedding, she looked stunning, and I got to meet up with some friends for the HMSA group too

(I’m on the right with the glasses)

Off to do the challenge Mel set me on Carolyns-I have to make something (not a card) using ribbon.

Nothing fun to report-except I’ve had a new order for cuttlebug embossing dies arrive-all I have to do now is find where DH has packed the Big Shot and I’m ready to play. As you’ve probaby guessed by this, we are now not moving this friday ;-(

I’m really hoping it will be next friday

Sorry-Kathy you asked about the metal I used in the cards for the last post-I can’t find the packaging but it was thinnish metal sheets, i have a feeling I bought them from a local art shop years ago. I must get some more, they woked so well with the cuttlebug embossing dies. I must see if they work on funky foam too.
